Font license

Every font in the FontGenerator library uses the same license. What you may do depends on how you downloaded the font.

Downloaded with an active Pro or Studio plan
- Client work, products, packaging, and advertising
- Embed in websites, apps, and games you distribute
- Rights continue after your plan ends

Images you make with our free online tools, such as a signature PNG, can be used for any purpose, personal or commercial. This does not license the font files themselves.

FontGenerator Font License 1.0

This license applies to the fonts in the FontGenerator font library (the "Fonts"). The rights you have depend on how you downloaded a Font.

1. Personal use

You may download a Font for free and install and use it in personal, non-commercial projects, such as school work, hobby projects, and personal social media posts. Personal use does not include client work, anything you sell, or anything that promotes a business or organization.

2. Commercial use and redistribution

If you download a Font while you have an active FontGenerator Pro or Studio plan, you may also use it commercially, including in client projects, products, packaging, advertising, websites, apps, and games. You may embed or bundle the Font in a product or project that you distribute to others. These rights continue for the Font you downloaded after your plan ends.

3. Modifications

You may modify a Font for your own projects. A modified Font is covered by the same terms as the download it came from.

4. Restrictions

You may not:

sell, share, or give away the font files on their own, or offer them in another font library, marketplace, or download service;
remove this license or the copyright notice from the font files;
claim that you created the Font.

5. No warranty

The Fonts are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. FontGenerator is not liable for any damages arising from the use of the Fonts.

Third-party components

These components keep their own licenses. Their notices are reproduced here as those licenses ask; they do not change the FontGenerator Font License above.

Droid fonts

Some fonts made or extended on FontGenerator include a few glyphs adapted from the Droid fonts, scaled, reweighted and slanted to match the font. Such font files name them in their description.

Noto Sans Devanagari 1.05

Hindi (Devanagari) letters in some library fonts are built from Noto Sans Devanagari 1.05, the last release under the Apache License, and fonts extended with Hindi on FontGenerator may include a few glyphs adapted from it. Such font files name it in their description.

Hershey Fonts

Some library fonts are drawn on letter skeletons derived from the Hershey Fonts.

The Hershey Fonts were originally created by Dr. A. V. Hershey while working at the U. S. National Bureau of Standards.

The format of the Font data in this distribution was originally created by James Hurt, Cognition, Inc., 900 Technology Park Drive, Billerica, MA 01821.
