Angled Tab Monoline Letterforms
Canted Cup Serif pairs thin, even strokes with small angled tabs that interrupt otherwise clean geometric letters. The H keeps a straight crossbar between upright stems, while its terminal tabs turn outward in different directions. The lowercase e wraps a rounded bowl around a horizontal bar, leaving an opening beside the inward-turning upper stroke. The r sends a broad curved shoulder out from a narrow upright. Circular forms sit beside sharp diagonals, and tall lowercase stems give mixed-case words a varied silhouette. The result feels spare and technical, with a slightly eccentric rhythm suited to short, deliberate wording.
Test the font in your wording
Inspect the e opening, the r shoulder and repeated stem tabs in your actual Latin wording. Compare tighter and wider spacing around capitals and allow room for descending letters. For other scripts, verify character availability and inspect separate specimens before choosing the font.
Font pairing roles
Try this face for brief headings, with a sturdier sans serif for supporting text and navigation labels. Its fine strokes and angled tabs supply the accent; a companion with plain terminals can keep longer explanations visually steady.

Canted Cup Serif combines thin strokes, curved bowls and small angled terminal tabs. Its H has a straight crossbar and its O is rounded, giving the phrase a light, restrained rhythm.

Cantilever Lattice Display uses heavier strokes, a hexagonal O and a diamond-shaped bridge inside H. Its branching E adds a lattice motif, making angular construction more prominent throughout the phrase.

How this page was made. Canted Cup Serif is a FontGenerator library font made with AI; before release its letters were read back one by one by independent automated checks. The design notes were written by AI from the specimen images and checked against them by a second, independent pass; font measurements come from the font file. Preview sizes and spacing are comparison settings.

About
About Canted Cup Serif
The x-height is a compact 70% of the cap height, below the 74.3% median for display fonts, lower than 94 of the 117 other display fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l rise 3.3% above the capitals, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 26% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 79 of the 117 other display fonts. It sets narrow: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 73.1% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 89.7%), 16.1% less than the median for display fonts, so more words fit on a line. The o is close to a circle, 0.93 times as wide as it is tall, and W is the widest capital, at 1.17 times the width of H. The O stops 6.5% of the cap height short of H and sits on the baseline.
The letters stand upright, leaning less than 2.5° either way. Vertical stems measure 6.7% of the cap height, the lightest of all 60 display fonts. Ink covers 19.5% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 105 of the 117 other display fonts. Strokes keep one thickness in every direction: the sides of o and O measure the same as their tops and bottoms.
Its 282 characters include 239 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 187 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 31.8% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 8.7% of its width. Spacing is adjusted with 119 kerning pairs, more than 87 of the 117 other display fonts. The tightest of them is RT, which closes up by 28.4% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Canted Cup Serif will not line up exactly.
Measured from the version 0.1.1 font file. Comparisons are with the 377 published library fonts measured on October 24, 2026, 118 of them display fonts.
