The 13 varsity & college fonts span 2 structural categories: 12 display and 1 script. Display is the most common structure here, 12 fonts or more than half of the page, each of them also listed on Display Fonts. For a free download, start with League Sans: it is in the free collection, while the other 12 of these varsity & college fonts need Pro, Studio or a Font Pass. Weights are not where these varsity & college fonts differ: all 13 come as one Regular style each. Besides varsity & college, the library most often files these fonts as retro (13), vintage (13), bold (11) and poster (11). 4 of them come in 1 group drawn on a shared letter structure; the largest includes Chrome Inline Slab, Jersey Slab and Mech Slab Outline, which differ in effect, slant or width rather than in their basic letter shapes.
Across these varsity & college fonts the narrowest is Dugout Script and the widest Jersey Slab: their average lowercase letters measure 57.5% and 106.4% of the cap height. Their median width, 94.8%, is 18% wider than the 80.6% median of the whole library, so the same words take a longer line than in an average library font. Measured against their capitals, the varsity & college fonts here put the top of the lowercase between 55.5% and 83.3% of the cap height, 79.6% at the median; the library median is 71.8%. By ink coverage, Mech Slab Outline is the lightest of these varsity & college fonts at 17.7% of each letter's box and Dugout Script the darkest at 55.3%; the median here, 45.4%, is 32% darker than the library's 34.4%. Effects drawn into the letters appear on all 13 varsity & college fonts: varsity outline on 10, 3D extrusion on 1, inline on 1 and outline on 1.
Character sets run from 148 to 3,966 (League Sans), and outside Latin 2 fonts cover Chinese and Hebrew and 1 covers Japanese kana and Korean Hangul. Each one includes accented Latin letters beyond A to Z (a median of 53), enough for words like café, niño and Straße. Kerning is built in for all 13: a median of 144 adjusted letter pairs, up to 288 in Alumni Roman. 2 have OpenType ligatures or alternates, and none has tabular figures, so columns of numbers will not align exactly.
Measured from the font files of 13 of the 13 fonts on this page: widths and heights are shares of the cap height. Library comparisons use the 372 library fonts measured on October 12, 2026.
Rally Sans covers Chinese and Japanese kana as well as Latin, 3,329 characters in all, the widest coverage on the page.
Alumni Roman is tuned with 288 kerning pairs, closing VA up by 26.3% of the cap height, so headlines need less hand spacing.
League Sans is in the free collection: a free account can download its TTF for personal projects (up to 3 different free fonts a month).
Campus Varsity has a varsity outline effect drawn into every letter, so the look needs no extra styling in your design app.
Dugout Script sets an average lowercase letter at 57.5% of the cap height, 39% under this page's median, so more letters fit across a label or a sleeve.
Jersey Slab runs 12% wider than the page median (106.4% of the cap height per lowercase letter), which fills a banner with one or two words.
