Frayed Ink Slant Letterforms
Brush Note Casual has broad, right-leaning capitals with ragged edges and pale streaks running through the black strokes. The R combines a compact upper bowl with a long diagonal leg that sweeps outward. The W has uneven pointed strokes, giving its middle a jagged rhythm, while the O forms a tilted oval with a clearly enclosed counter. L finishes with a broad foot that rises toward its tip. These separate, emphatic gestures make short words feel brisk and assertive, with enough roughness to suggest an informal message rather than a polished inscription.
Test the font in your wording
Preview your actual Latin wording, checking the R's spreading leg, the W's pointed strokes and the counters in O and D. Compare tighter and wider spacing around these shapes. Evaluate other scripts separately with representative text in your intended application.
Font pairing roles
Try this face for a brief heading, with a regular upright sans serif for supporting text and labels. Its broad, frayed strokes suggest a useful contrast with smooth, even lines; test the combination for hierarchy and scanning in your actual layout.

Broad strokes, frayed edges and a consistent rightward lean give the words a forceful sweep. Choose this treatment when the lettering's texture should be prominent in a short heading.
HELLO WORLD?
Feral Willow Script has thinner, smoother strokes with rounded ends and more upright stems. Its tall, narrow letters give the same wording a lighter handwritten presence, with less surface texture.

How this page was made. Brush Note Casual is a FontGenerator library font made with AI; before release its letters were read back one by one by independent automated checks. The design notes were written by AI from the specimen images and checked against them by a second, independent pass; font measurements come from the font file. About
About Brush Note Casual
Brush Note Casual's lowercase x reaches 72.4% of the capital height, close to the 73.2% median for handwriting fonts, lower than 17 of the 29 other handwriting fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l rise 20.5% above the capitals, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 10.2% of the cap height below the baseline, the shallowest of all 30 handwriting fonts. Brush Note Casual runs 9.1% wider than the median for handwriting fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 79% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 78.4%). The o is close to a circle, 0.93 times as wide as it is tall, and T is the widest capital, at 1.02 times the width of H. The O stops 6.4% of the cap height short of H and stands 4.9% above the baseline.
Ink covers 37.7% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 20 of the 29 other handwriting fonts.
Its 95 characters include 52 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; there are no accented Latin letters beyond A to Z. The word space measures 47.1% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 11.8% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Brush Note Casual will not line up exactly.
Measured from the version 0.3.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 376 published library fonts measured on November 8, 2026, 30 of them handwriting fonts.
