About
Its lowercase sits low: the x-height is 44.8% of the cap height, where the median for script fonts is 48.4%, lower than 51 of the 53 other script fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (99.1% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 53.7% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 52 of the 53 other script fonts. Its letters are of average width for script fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 63.7% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 112.8%), within 0.6% of the median. The o is wider than it is tall, 1.50 to 1, and N is the widest capital, at 1.15 times the width of H. The O stops 0.9% of the cap height short of H and sits on the baseline.
The letters lean roughly 25° to the right. Ink covers 17.7% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 44 of the 53 other script fonts.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 32.8% of the cap height, and lowercase letters reach 26.5% past their own widths into the space of their neighbours. Spacing is adjusted with 37 kerning pairs, fewer than 39 of the 53 other script fonts. The tightest of them is TA, which closes up by 30.5% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Notary Script will not line up exactly.
13 other library fonts share Notary Script's underlying letter structure. Compared with Notary Script, Vow Script puts down 37% more ink. Gala Script leans about 21° and puts down 53% more ink. Sweetheart Script sets 10% wider, puts down 36% more ink and has a 51% x-height.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 54 of them script fonts.
