Racer Slab

With an x-height of 78.7% of the cap height, its lowercase stands above the 76.2% median for display fonts, taller than 72 of the 97 other display fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l rise 3.3% above the capitals, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 24.2% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 56 of the 97 other display fonts. It sets wide: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 94.1% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 110%), 5.3% more than the median for display fonts, so the same words take a longer line. The o is close to a circle, 1.13 times as wide as it is tall, and W is the widest capital, at 1.22 times the width of H. O stands exactly as tall as H and sits on the baseline, with no overshoot.

The letters lean about 10° to the right, where most display fonts in the library stand upright. Ink covers 34.3% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 73 of the 97 other display fonts. Strokes keep nearly one thickness in every direction: the sides and the tops of o and O differ by 7%. Thin horizontal stripes cut through the lower half of each letter.

Its 3,966 characters include 3,756 Chinese and 105 Latin letters, plus 105 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 36.1% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 6.3% of its width. Spacing is adjusted with 118 kerning pairs, more than 69 of the 97 other display fonts. The tightest of them is VA, which closes up by 31.8% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Racer Slab will not line up exactly.

Racer Slab is drawn on the same letter structure as 10 other fonts in the library. Compared with Racer Slab, Slime Slab adds paint drips, stands upright and puts down 19% more ink.
