About
About Soiree Script
Soiree Script's lowercase x reaches 46.5% of the capital height, close to the 48.4% median for script fonts, lower than 37 of the 53 other script fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100.5% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 53.1% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 46 of the 53 other script fonts. Soiree Script runs 11.9% narrower than the median for script fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 56.5% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 97%). The o is wider than it is tall, 1.31 to 1, and N is the widest capital, at 1.16 times the width of H. The O stops 0.5% of the cap height short of H and sits on the baseline.
The letters lean roughly 20° to the right. Ink covers 25.8% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 30 of the 53 other script fonts.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 31.1% of the cap height, and lowercase letters reach 23.9% past their own widths into the space of their neighbours. Spacing is adjusted with 40 kerning pairs, fewer than 36 of the 53 other script fonts. The tightest of them is TA, which closes up by 25.2% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Soiree Script will not line up exactly.
13 other library fonts share Soiree Script's underlying letter structure. Compared with Soiree Script, Executive Sign sets 13% wider and puts down 31% less ink. Bouquet Script sets 30% wider. Amore Nib sets 13% wider.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 54 of them script fonts.
