Its lowercase sits low: the x-height is 72.5% of the cap height, where the median for decorative fonts is 74.5%, lower than 25 of the 35 other decorative fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l stop at 96.7% of the capital height, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 21.3% of the cap height below the baseline, shallower than 24 of the 35 other decorative fonts. Its letters are of average width for decorative fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 74.8% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 85.1%), within 1.8% of the median. The o is an upright oval, 0.80 times as wide as it is tall, and W is the widest capital, at 1.41 times the width of H. The O stops 0.9% of the cap height short of H and dips 10.1% below the baseline.

The letters stand upright, with no measurable slant. Vertical stems measure 15.7% of the cap height, heavier than 11 of the 22 other decorative fonts. Ink covers 39.2% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 22 of the 35 other decorative fonts. The tops and bottoms of o and O are slightly heavier than their sides, 1.16 to 1. Paint drips hang from the undersides of the strokes.

Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 33% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 10.9% of its width. Spacing is adjusted with 127 kerning pairs, fewer than 21 of the 35 other decorative fonts. The tightest of them is YA, which closes up by 24.8% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Spooky Print will not line up exactly.
