About
About Starlit Script
Starlit Script's lowercase x reaches 46.4% of the capital height, close to the 48.4% median for script fonts, lower than 40 of the 53 other script fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100.7% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 53.1% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 46 of the 53 other script fonts. Starlit Script runs 15% wider than the median for script fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 73.7% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 117.1%). The o is wider than it is tall, 1.68 to 1, and N is the widest capital, at 1.17 times the width of H. The O stops 0.5% of the cap height short of H and sits on the baseline.
Ink covers 22.7% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 34 of the 53 other script fonts.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 38.5% of the cap height, and lowercase letters reach 14.7% past their own widths into the space of their neighbours. Spacing is adjusted with 46 kerning pairs, more than 30 of the 53 other script fonts. The tightest of them is TA, which closes up by 32.8% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Starlit Script will not line up exactly.
13 other library fonts share Starlit Script's underlying letter structure. Compared with Starlit Script, Executive Sign sets 14% narrower and puts down 21% less ink. Phantom Script adds paint drips, sets 25% narrower and puts down 38% more ink. Gala Script sets 13% narrower and puts down 19% more ink.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 54 of them script fonts.
