Textura Outline

The x-height is a compact 70.4% of the cap height, below the 74.5% median for decorative fonts, lower than 29 of the 35 other decorative fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (99% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 28.6% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 27 of the 35 other decorative fonts. Its letters are of average width for decorative fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 75.4% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 105.8%), within 1% of the median. The o is close to a circle, 1.09 times as wide as it is tall, and M is the widest capital, at 1.26 times the width of H. The O stops 1% of the cap height short of H and dips 0.4% below the baseline.

Ink covers 16.5% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), level with the lightest of the 36 decorative fonts. The letters are hollow: every stroke is drawn as a thin outline band.

Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 33.8% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 6.5% of its width. Spacing is adjusted with 207 kerning pairs, more than 19 of the 35 other decorative fonts. The tightest of them is TA, which closes up by 16.8% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Textura Outline will not line up exactly.

Textura Outline is drawn on the same letter structure as one other font in the library. Compared with Textura Outline, Vigil Blackletter keeps the letters plain, without the outline effect and puts down 143% more ink.
