Ragged Slant Display Letterforms
Brush Ink Taper combines narrow capitals with pointed stroke endings and uneven edges. The H has tall, spike-ended stems crossed by a heavy bar, while the E sends its outer arms into long, ragged tips. The R holds a compact upper bowl above a diagonal leg that thins sharply toward its end. Rounded letters provide a softer counterpoint, with open interiors and dark patches where the stroke turns. Thick strokes sit beside slender exits, giving the words a restless rhythm without filling every gap. The result feels brisk and emphatic, with enough open space to keep short phrases from becoming a solid dark block.
Test the font in your wording
Preview your actual Latin wording, checking pointed endings, repeated letters and gaps around rounded forms. Compare punctuation with nearby capitals, especially the question mark. Check accented names and other scripts separately; these specimens establish neither their appearance nor their coverage.
Font pairing roles
Try this face for a short heading with a regular sans serif for descriptions and labels. Its sharp ends and changing stroke weight supply emphasis, while even companion strokes could give supporting information a calmer reading rhythm.

Same wording · 40pxHELLO WORLD?
Brush Ink Taper has slimmer strokes, longer needlelike endings and a narrower overall word shape. Its H stands relatively upright, while the small upper bowl and thin descending leg give R a wiry finish.
HELLO WORLD?
Brush Note Casual shows heavier strokes, more consistently rough edges and a stronger forward lean. Its broader R and fuller W give the same phrase a denser, more sweeping rhythm.

How this page was made. Brush Ink Taper is a FontGenerator library font made with AI; before release its letters were read back one by one by independent automated checks. The design notes were written by AI from the specimen images and checked against them by a second, independent pass; font measurements come from the font file. About
About Brush Ink Taper
With an x-height of 80.2% of the cap height, its lowercase stands above the 73.2% median for handwriting fonts, the tallest of all 30 handwriting fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l rise 24% above the capitals, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 14.2% of the cap height below the baseline, shallower than 28 of the 29 other handwriting fonts. It sets narrow: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 64.1% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 67.8%), 11.5% less than the median for handwriting fonts, so more words fit on a line. The o is an upright oval, 0.75 times as wide as it is tall, and B is the widest capital, at 1.01 times the width of H. The O stops 5.6% of the cap height short of H and stands 2.6% above the baseline.
The letters lean about 7° to the right, where most handwriting fonts in the library stand upright. Ink covers 31.2% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 21 of the 29 other handwriting fonts. The contrast is reversed: the tops and bottoms of o and O are 1.4 times as thick as their sides.
Its 95 characters include 52 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; there are no accented Latin letters beyond A to Z. The word space measures 56.1% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 15.2% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Brush Ink Taper will not line up exactly.
Measured from the version 0.3.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 376 published library fonts measured on November 4, 2026, 30 of them handwriting fonts.
