About
About Debug Duplex
Its x-height is 68.7% of the cap height, near the 70.2% typical of monospace fonts in the library, the lowest of all 20 monospace fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 31.5% of the cap height below the baseline, level with the deepest of the 20 monospace fonts. Its letters are of average width for monospace fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 86% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 86%), within 0% of the median. The o is close to a circle, 0.98 times as wide as it is tall, and every capital has the same width. Round letters overshoot: O rises 3.1% of the cap height above H and dips 1.7% below the baseline.
The letters stand upright, with no measurable slant. Ink covers 21.5% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 13 of the 19 other monospace fonts.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 86% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 31.8% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. All ten figures share one width, so columns of numbers line up.
Debug Duplex is drawn on the same letter structure as 3 other fonts in the library. Compared with Debug Duplex, Stack Duplex sets 8% narrower. Lambda Italic leans about 8°. Code Oblique leans about 9° and puts down 33% more ink.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 20 of them monospace fonts.
