About
About Lambda Italic
Its x-height is 68.8% of the cap height, near the 70.2% typical of monospace fonts in the library, lower than 18 of the 19 other monospace fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 31.2% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 14 of the 19 other monospace fonts. Its letters are of average width for monospace fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 86% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 86%), within 0% of the median. The o is close to a circle, 1.00 times as wide as it is tall, and every capital has the same width. Round letters overshoot: O rises 3% of the cap height above H and dips 1.7% below the baseline.
The letters lean about 8° to the right, where most monospace fonts in the library stand upright. Ink covers 22% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 11 of the 19 other monospace fonts. Strokes keep one thickness in every direction: the sides of o and O measure the same as their tops and bottoms.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 86% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 29.4% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. All ten figures share one width, so columns of numbers line up.
Lambda Italic is drawn on the same letter structure as 3 other fonts in the library. Compared with Lambda Italic, Stack Duplex stands upright and sets 8% narrower. Code Oblique puts down 30% more ink. Debug Duplex stands upright.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 20 of them monospace fonts.
