About
About Stack Duplex
Stack Duplex's lowercase x reaches 70.1% of the capital height, close to the 70.2% median for monospace fonts, lower than 10 of the 19 other monospace fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 31.2% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 14 of the 19 other monospace fonts. Stack Duplex runs 8% narrower than the median for monospace fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 79.1% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 79.1%). The o is close to a circle, 0.92 times as wide as it is tall, and every capital has the same width. Round letters overshoot: O rises 3.1% of the cap height above H and dips 1.7% below the baseline.
The letters stand upright, with no measurable slant. Ink covers 24% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 10 of the 19 other monospace fonts.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 79.1% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 30.1% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. All ten figures share one width, so columns of numbers line up.
3 other library fonts share Stack Duplex's underlying letter structure. Compared with Stack Duplex, Code Oblique leans about 9°, sets 7% wider and puts down 20% more ink. Lambda Italic leans about 8° and sets 9% wider. Debug Duplex sets 9% wider.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 20 of them monospace fonts.
