About
About Geo Sans Round
Its x-height is 70.4% of the cap height, near the 71.1% typical of sans serif fonts in the library, lower than 10 of the 16 other sans serif fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 29.6% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 9 of the 16 other sans serif fonts. It sets wide: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 108.6% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 109.3%), 11.8% more than the median for sans serif fonts, so the same words take a longer line. The o is close to a circle, 1.13 times as wide as it is tall, and M and W are the widest capitals, at 1.12 times the width of H. O stands exactly as tall as H and sits on the baseline, with no overshoot.
The letters stand upright, with no measurable slant. Vertical stems measure 11.3% of the cap height, heavier than 14 of the 16 other sans serif fonts. Ink covers 21.8% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 9 of the 16 other sans serif fonts. Strokes keep one thickness in every direction: the sides of o and O measure the same as their tops and bottoms.
Its 226 characters include 116 Latin and 66 Cyrillic letters, plus 44 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 64 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 52.9% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 31.2% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. All ten figures share one width, so columns of numbers line up.
Measured from the version 0.3.2 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 17 of them sans serif fonts.
