Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l rise 6.7% above the capitals, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 15.1% of the cap height below the baseline, shallower than 19 of the 21 other handwriting fonts. Marker Dry Chisel runs 13.6% narrower than the median for handwriting fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 64.6% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 73.1%). The o is an upright oval, 0.80 times as wide as it is tall, and no capital is wider than H. The O stops 11.1% of the cap height short of H and stands 8.1% above the baseline.

Vertical stems measure 16.9% of the cap height, heavier than 7 of the 11 other handwriting fonts. Ink covers 39.1% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 14 of the 21 other handwriting fonts. It is close to monoline, with the sides of o and O 0.94 times as thick as their tops and bottoms.

Its 2,496 characters include 2,401 Korean Hangul and 52 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; there are no accented Latin letters beyond A to Z. The word space measures 45.8% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 15.5% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Marker Dry Chisel will not line up exactly.
