Gapped Tile Scoreboard Letterforms
Pixel Arcade Bold presents upright capitals as chains of square tiles, with fine gaps running through both straight strokes and turns. The O is tall and compact, with short flat ends and inset corners rather than a smooth curve. The R carries a small upper bowl above a leg that descends in separate square steps. The W places a shorter central stroke between tall outer stems, making its lower turns especially distinctive. Stroke thickness stays visually even, while the open counters keep the lettering relatively airy. The result feels mechanical and game-like, with a clear scoreboard rhythm.
Test the font in your wording
Check O against zero in your actual Latin wording, since the specimen distinguishes zero with an internal diagonal. Inspect R and W as the preview shrinks, watching their tile gaps. Test accented Latin and any other scripts separately; these samples establish their appearance only for the characters shown.
Font pairing roles
Try this face for short headings, with a plain sans serif for explanations and supporting labels. Its interrupted strokes create a strong texture; continuous companion strokes could give longer passages a calmer rhythm.

Pixel Arcade Bold separates its strokes into square tiles, with plain stem endings and tall, compact loops. Choose it when the visible gaps and restrained letter shapes should carry the game display character.

Retro Byte Slab has connected strokes, projecting slab feet on letters such as H and L, and more angularly rounded O shapes. Try it when the lettering calls for a more solid silhouette with pronounced serif details.

How this page was made. Pixel Arcade Bold is a FontGenerator library font made with AI; before release its letters were read back one by one by independent automated checks. The design notes were written by AI from the specimen images and checked against them by a second, independent pass; font measurements come from the font file. Preview sizes and spacing are comparison settings.

About
About Pixel Arcade Bold
The lowercase is as tall as the capitals: its x-height measures 100% of the cap height, level with the tallest of the 13 pixel fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100% of their height), and g, j, p, q and y barely drop below the baseline. Pixel Arcade Bold runs 13.6% wider than the median for pixel fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 92.1% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 92.1%). The o is an upright oval, 0.71 times as wide as it is tall, and every capital has the same width. O stands exactly as tall as H and sits on the baseline, with no overshoot.
The letters stand upright, leaning less than 2.5° either way. Vertical stems measure 12.7% of the cap height, lighter than 4 of the 6 other pixel fonts. Ink covers 26.4% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 7 of the 12 other pixel fonts. Strokes keep one thickness in every direction: the sides of o and O measure the same as their tops and bottoms.
Its 159 characters include 116 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 64 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 47.9% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 23% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. All ten figures share one width, so columns of numbers line up.
Measured from the version 0.3.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 376 published library fonts measured on November 8, 2026, 13 of them pixel fonts.
