About
About Pixel Script
The x-height is a compact 46.2% of the cap height, below the 78.9% median for pixel fonts, the lowest of all 12 pixel fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l line up with the capitals (100% of their height), and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 53.8% of the cap height below the baseline, the deepest of all 12 pixel fonts. It sets narrow: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 65.5% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 105.6%), 20.4% less than the median for pixel fonts, so more words fit on a line. The o is wider than it is tall, 1.83 to 1, and M is the widest capital, at 1.38 times the width of H. O stands exactly as tall as H and sits on the baseline, with no overshoot.
Ink covers 38.2% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 10 of the 11 other pixel fonts. The letters are built on a square pixel grid.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 35.1% of the cap height, and lowercase letters reach 25.8% past their own widths into the space of their neighbours. Spacing is adjusted with 59 kerning pairs, more than 6 of the 11 other pixel fonts. The tightest of them is TA, which closes up by 27.1% of the cap height. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Pixel Script will not line up exactly.
Pixel Script is drawn on the same letter structure as 16 other fonts in the library. Compared with Pixel Script, Inkline Signature keeps the letters plain, without the pixel effect and puts down 65% less ink. Sleigh Script keeps the letters plain, without the pixel effect and puts down 31% less ink. Ember Script keeps the letters plain, without the pixel effect.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 314 library fonts measured on October 2, 2026, 12 of them pixel fonts.
