Valentine Bow Serif
Display · 1 style · 148 glyphs · Version 0.1.0
Valentine Bow Serif is an original romantic serif for Valentine cards, poster titles, gift tags, and craft labels. The sweetness comes from a repeated outline rhythm, never from hearts replacing letters. Stable heavy verticals and fine horizontals. Each bow end is part of its original serif contour rather than an attached decoration. Best for romantic card titles, gift labels, party posters, and craft-brand short headings.

About
About Valentine Bow Serif
Its lowercase sits low: the x-height is 61.8% of the cap height, where the median for display fonts is 74.2%, lower than 146 of the 148 other display fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l stop at 92.2% of the capital height, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 25.5% of the cap height below the baseline, deeper than 86 of the 148 other display fonts. Valentine Bow Serif runs 18.1% narrower than the median for display fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 69.7% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 82.3%). The o is close to a circle, 1.00 times as wide as it is tall, and M is the widest capital, at 1.13 times the width of H. The O stops 3.5% of the cap height short of H and dips 1.1% below the baseline.
The letters stand upright, with no measurable slant. Vertical stems measure 14.8% of the cap height, lighter than 57 of the 72 other display fonts. Ink covers 28.3% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), lighter than 123 of the 148 other display fonts. Strokes change thickness with direction: the sides of o and O are 4.4 times as thick as their tops and bottoms.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 45.8% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 14.4% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Valentine Bow Serif will not line up exactly.
Measured from the version 0.1.0 font file. Comparisons are with the 466 library fonts measured on October 6, 2026, 149 of them display fonts.
