Design
Beacon Slab 3D combines heavy upright stems with lighter horizontal bars and broad, square feet. Thin offset contours run above and to the right of the black letter faces, with pale channels keeping the layers apart. The O has a wide rounded bowl and a crescent cut into the lower left of its counter. The E repeats the stepped edge across its arms, while the R sends a firm diagonal leg into a notched foot. These details give the lettering a dimensional, retro signboard mood, with enough angular structure to balance the generous curves.
Inspect repeated Latin rounds, diagonal joins, and adjacent square feet in your wording. Check that the offset arcs and pale channels stay separate, especially around O and R. Preview accented Latin characters individually; other scripts need their own coverage and appearance checks.
Use this face for the main heading, then try a plain sans serif for supporting text and labels. Its offset contours and broad feet already supply substantial detail, so a companion with simple edges can keep the hierarchy clear.

HELLO WORLD?
Beacon Slab 3D adds offset upper and right contours, pale channels around the square feet, and a crescent inside O. Choose it when those layered edges should contribute to the lettering.
HELLO WORLD?
Beacon Slab shows the same broad capitals with solid edges and open, uninterrupted counters. Its E and L have plain rectangular feet, making it a useful choice when the underlying letter shapes should carry the composition.

How this page was made. Beacon Slab 3D is a FontGenerator library font made with AI; before release its letters were read back one by one by independent automated checks. The design notes were written by AI from the specimen images and checked against them by a second, independent pass; font measurements come from the font file. About
Its lowercase is tall: the x-height is 77.1% of the cap height, against a median of 69.6% for serif fonts, taller than 46 of the 52 other serif fonts. Ascenders on b, d, h, k and l rise 3.4% above the capitals, and descenders on g, j, p, q and y drop 24% of the cap height below the baseline, shallower than 46 of the 52 other serif fonts. Beacon Slab 3D runs 17.3% wider than the median for serif fonts: an average lowercase letter, spacing included, is 98.4% as wide as the capitals are tall (an average capital, 109%). The o is wider than it is tall, 1.17 to 1, and W is the widest capital, at 1.30 times the width of H. Round letters overshoot: O rises 1.3% of the cap height above H and dips 1.4% below the baseline.
Ink covers 44.4% of each lowercase letter's box (its advance width by the cap height), darker than 43 of the 52 other serif fonts.
Its 148 characters include 105 Latin letters, plus 43 figures, punctuation marks and symbols; 53 of the Latin letters are accented or special forms beyond A to Z. The word space measures 35.1% of the cap height, and the blank space either side of a lowercase letter takes up 6.5% of its width. The font carries no kerning, so spacing comes from each letter’s own side bearings. The figures have different widths, so columns of numbers set in Beacon Slab 3D will not line up exactly.
12 other library fonts share Beacon Slab 3D's underlying letter structure. Compared with Beacon Slab 3D, Racer Slab cuts horizontal stripes through the letters, puts down 23% less ink and adds Filipino, Malay, Albanian and 2 more languages. Slime Slab adds paint drips. Sheriff Shadow adds a separate drop shadow, sets 17% narrower and adds Afrikaans, Azerbaijani, Bosnian and 8 more languages.
Measured from the version 0.1.1 font file. Comparisons are with the 377 published library fonts measured on October 25, 2026, 53 of them serif fonts.
